Eric Carle: Carnival of Animals

A Carnival of Animals explores Eric Carle’s fascination with the natural world. Childhood memories of long walks in the woods with his father, and summers spent on the farms of German relatives, were the sources of inspiration for many of the artworks. Children are encouraged to look for animals that make you smile, teach a lesson, or share a bit of wisdom.

Eric Carle

Eric Carle illustrated brilliant and innovatively designed picture books for children, including his most well-known title, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. In 2002, Carle and his wife, Barbara, co-founded The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
