Collaging Paper Cats

Diana MacKenzie

Purple cat, purple cat, what do you see? Well, if purple cat visited The Art Studio this month she would see lots of colorful paper kitty friends perching, playing and purring in our Kitty Cafe!

For this project, everyone starts with a large organic shape for the cat’s body, then cut their own shapes out for the head, legs, tail and other details.

We also have The Studio’s collection of store-bought and handmade rubbing plates available to add unique furry textures with crayons.

It’s great to see kids and their adults getting into this project!

Stop by for yourself before November 15, 2014 to make a Purrfect Pet of your own!

To make your own set of hand made rubbing plates, see our Rubbing Plate Tutorial here.

Making Art with Children is generously sponsored by the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority.
